Green pod bed, Johor
Visit date : 2011
Year of build : 1970's
Current status : Demolished
2013

The green pod bed house dates probably from the 1960’s or 1970’s and had all the trappings of that era on show. Mirrored mosaic glass walls, foam padded banisters, terrazzo flooring and of course the green pod bed up in the bedroom.

This had been a pretty exclusive house and property. It sat on a hill and overlooked the straits of Johor with views across towards Singapore. Back in the day the same hill played host to several grand colonial bungalows. Neabry, one bungalow in particular, now demolished, became an infamous nightclub during the 60's, so this house definitely had some interesting neighbours back in the day..

The green pod bed house was finally demolition in around 2013, much to the relief of its immediate neighbours who lived in fear of the drug addicts and thieves that frequented it on a regular basis.
